Musée Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Montmorency
Jean-Jacques Rousseau lived at Mont-Louis de Montmorency from 1757 to 1762, where he composed his greatest works: Julie ou la Nouvelle Héloïse, Du Contrat Social, Emile ou De l’éducation. La Maison des Commères (the House of Gossipers) includes a library specialized in the eighteenth century and local history (open to the public by appointment only). In the garden, discover the "green cabinet", the "Donjon", and, during the high season, the teahouse.
